This spring features a 0.244-inch outside diameter (6.2 mm) designed to work over a rod/mandrel of 0.157 inch (3.99 mm) with a 0.024 -inch wire diameter (0.61 mm). Made from this spring delivers a maximum torque of 0.283 lb-in (31.9747 N-mm) through its 2.75 total coils with a deflection to max torque of 64 degrees for predictable angular performance. The spring features legs with a length of 0.866 inch (22 mm) positioned at 270 degrees in the free position, operating at a radius of 0.433 inch (11 mm) with a body length of 0.09 inch (2.39 mm). This torsion spring has Zinc Plate per ASTM B633 (Factory Option to Pre-Galv or Pre-Coated Zinc Wire) and a Left Hand direction of wind and provides consistent rotational force for optimal performance in angular displacement applications.

Direction of Wind:

Good design dictates that torsion springs should be used in the direction that winds the coil. When ordering, select either LTL (standard left-hand wound) or LTR (standard right-hand wound) for required application.

Mandrel Size:

Generally, torsion springs are used over a mandrel (shaft or arbor). The column "Suggested Mandrel Size", allows approximately a 10% clearance for the various deflections shown in examples below. If you require greater deflection, a reduction in mandrel size is suggested.
