This spring features a 0.11-inch outside diameter (2.79 mm) designed to work over a rod/mandrel of 0.059 inch (1.5 mm) with a 0.016 -inch wire diameter (0.41 mm). Made from this spring delivers a maximum torque of 0.082 lb-in (9.2648 N-mm) through its 2.25 total coils with a deflection to max torque of 36 degrees for predictable angular performance. The spring features legs with a length of 0.63 inch (16 mm) positioned at 90 degrees in the free position, operating at a radius of 0.315 inch (8 mm) with a body length of 0.05 inch (1.19 mm). This torsion spring has Passivate per ASTM A967 and a Left Hand direction of wind and provides consistent rotational force for optimal performance in angular displacement applications.

About the Torsion Spring Series

Torsion Spring selection are available in seven categories based on the free position of legs (90°, 120°, 180°, 210°, 270°, 300°, 360°) and both left-hand and right-hand wound springs are available.

Direction of Wind:

Good design dictates that torsion springs should be used in the direction that winds the coil. When ordering, select either LTL (standard left-hand wound) or LTR (standard right-hand wound) for required application.

Mandrel Size:

Generally, torsion springs are used over a mandrel (shaft or arbor). The column "Suggested Mandrel Size", allows approximately a 10% clearance for the various deflections shown in examples below. If you require greater deflection, a reduction in mandrel size is suggested.
