Lite Pressure™ Series (inch) Compression Springs

When Light Pressure is the Right Pressure.

Lee Spring LP 018D 01 S316 is a precision compression spring from the Lite Pressure™ Series (inch) series, specifically designed for low-force applications requiring a more supple compression spring response. This spring features an 0.312-inch outside diameter (7.92 mm) with a 0.328-inch hole diameter (8.33 mm) and extends to a free length of 0.313 inch (7.95 mm), making it ideal for low force applications over a longer deflection. Made from Stainless Steel Type 316 with a 0.018-inch wire diameter (0.46 mm), the spring delivers a spring rate of 1.99 lb/inch (0.349 N/mm) through its 2.6 active coils out of 4.6 total coils for predictable deflection behavior. The spring compresses to a solid height of 0.101 inch (2.57 mm) while supporting a maximum load of 0.422 lb (1.88 N) at full compression. The spring has Squared ends and a Passivate per ASTM A967 finish for optimal performance.

About the Lite Pressure™ Compression Spring Series

Lite Pressure™ Compression Springs are ideal when a relatively low spring rate or workable load is needed in dimensions not normally available in conventional compression spring rate and size combinations. The term “Lite Pressure” refers to the design performance of these springs, generally used where relatively low forces are required for a given diameter. Lite Pressure™ Series Springs are made of passivated and ultrasonically cleaned Type 316 Stainless Steel to meet requirements for various applications that require improved corrosion resistance, enhanced cleanliness, and moderately elevated temperatures. WHY "PRESSURE"? Pressure is described as a force which is exerted over a surface area. In regards to compression springs, the pressure exerted as the result of a specific deflection can be more technically described as force over a flat surface with a circular perimeter (the Nominal Hole in which the spring is being used). The term "Lite Pressure™" is used to describe a series of springs designed to be utilized where relatively low forces are required for a given diameter. HOW PRESSURE RATING FOR LP SERIES WOULD BE USED: The pressure rating assigned to each item of the Lite Pressure™ series is a selection parameter to assist in meeting qualitative requirements or quantitative requirements. Each series is offered in increments within ranges from 1 to 5 psi, 1.5 to 5.5 psi or 5 to 15 psi pressure ratings. APPLICATIONS: Lite Pressure™ Series Springs are ideal for many fluid power applications such as relief valves, check valves or pistons. Other applications could include motor brushes, contacts, displays, syringes, toys, dispensers and many more.
