Compression Spring: OD 1.095 in, FL 2.75 in, Stainless SteelHeavy Duty Series (inch) Compression SpringsDurable Springs Manufactured to Perform Lee Spring LHC 142J 04S is a heavy-duty die compression spring from the Heavy Duty Series (inch) series, specifically engineered for demanding industrial applications requiring durabiliy and substantial load capacity. This spring features an 1.095-inch outside diameter (27.81 mm) with a 1.125-inch hole diameter (28.58 mm) and extends to a free length of 2.75 inch (69.85 mm), making it ideal for stamping and die applications. Made from Stainless Steel with a 0.142-inch wire diameter (3.61 mm), the spring delivers a spring rate of 76.56 lb/inch (13.408 N/mm) through its 7.67 active coils out of 9.67 total coils, with Factory Option wind for predictable deflection behavior. The spring compresses to a solid height of 1.4 inch (35.56 mm) while supporting a maximum load of 104.4 lb (464.39 N) at full compression. The spring has Squared and Ground ends and a Passivate per ASTM A967 finish for optimal die spring performance. Compression Springs – Heavy Duty SeriesThe Lee Spring Heavy Duty Series of compression springs includes a range of large size and high spring rate combinations. Selections are sorted in ascending order to mating hole/bore diameter sizes. Heavy Duty Series springs are available in Music Wire or Oil Tempered MB and Type 302 Stainless Steel. Springs in this series are pre-set to prevent length loss in operation and shotpeened for added fatigue resistance. The Music Wire/Oil Tempered MB springs are provided with a zinc plating finish for light corrosion resistance. The Type 302 Stainless Steel springs are passivated. Lee Spring Heavy Duty Series springs feature squared and ground ends. A squared end, also called a closed end, is made by reducing the coil pitch of the ends to zero. Squareness influences how a force produced by the spring can be transferred to adjacent parts. The ground ends provide flat bearing surfaces and additional stability. Squared and ground ends are particularly useful in applications in which 1) high-duty springs are specified, 2) unusually close tolerances on load or rate are needed, 3) solid height must be minimized, 4) accurate seating and uniform bearing pressures are required and 5) a tendency towards buckling must be reduced.
