Lee Spring has a strong focus on customer service and has over 19,000 stock springs available to suit varying application requirements across a range of sectors. For more specialist requirements, however, a custom spring design service enables Lee Spring to supply custom designed and manufactured springs and fasteners to suit any application.
As part of the excellent customer service provided by Lee Spring, its ‘Custom Spring Direct’ service is a streamlined, dedicated service, offering a 24 hour response time. Customers are simply required to provide a drawing or specification form that outlines what is required, including load requirements and quantity.
In order to help customers with the selection of spring requirements, a number of resources are available on the Lee Spring website. There are eight spring type specification forms to help decide on the type of spring required and a glossary of custom spring terminology to help with specification. Details about different spring materials, spring finish, operational temperatures and tolerances can be found in the Specification and Tolerances data on the Lee Spring website.
Lee Spring designs and manufactures a virtually unlimited variety of spring configurations and specifications to suit any application in any sector.
Lee Spring uses a wide range of alloys to meet various application requirements, including Stainless Steel 17-7 and 316, Inconel 600, 718 and x750, Phosphor Bronze, Beryllium Copper, Hastelloy ® and Elgiloy.
‘Fourslide parts’ is an integrated stamping and forming operation offered by Lee Spring to help minimise the cost of parts, speed up the delivery time and streamline quality assurance in the production of custom springs. A fourslide, also known as a four-slide, multislide, multi-slide, or four-way, is a metalworking machine tool used in the high-volume manufacture of small stamped components from strip or wire stock. Fourslide production offers low to moderate tooling costs and produces accurate and repeatable parts. This process requires less machinery, setups, and handling which helps to reduce the cost of the finished part.
The expert engineering staff at Lee Spring can work from drawings, specifications or part samples to meet
specific wire form requirements. While the majority of springs have a helix or spiral shape consisting
of a group of coils, wire forms usually do not. Typically, wire forms are parts made from wire that is bent to give it specific angles and lengths. Lee Spring’s comprehensive custom capabilities extend to Wire Forms, Stampings and Fourslide Parts.
Lee Spring has a world-class engineering team that applies its expertise to assisting customers with wire form needs
from conception and throughout the design and manufacturing process. Custom wire forms are manufactured to meet exact specifications and can be produced from almost any material shape, including Rolled Round, Flattened Round, Rectangular and Shaped.
